So, let’s say it takes 1.5 hours to drive 100 miles in a car. Easy, right?
How about running 100 miles ….on foot? 👟
For Adam Monke, experienced Ultra Marathoner, that distance generally takes 23 hours +/-. Even as a lifelong athlete, this is a feat that takes dedication, nutrition, science and passion. Since 2015, Adam has run 3-6 of these 100-mile races per year.
We thrilled to help support Adam as he navigates the roads of Nebraska on April 24th during his fundraising WH(Y) I RUN, run. This run is different than those sanctioned runs Adam competes in across America every year. This one is extra special. Adam is redirecting his training to run the cities of Nebraska to help raise funds and awareness to support the YMCA and the critical services they are providing to support families on the front lines battling #coronavirus.
WANT TO GET INVOLVED? It’s easy. Buy a HELPER t-shirt like Adam is wearing above to wear yourself so you can join Adam while he is running the route (in person or from afar, virtually) and all proceeds will go directly to the Y (link in bio). AND, go to the @YMCAFremont website to donate directly - https://www.fremontfamilyymca.org/support-y Follow along here as we share more details and updates about Adam’s run from Fremont, Nebraska to Lincoln (and back).
